Nokia Innovation Day 2016 Bangalore India

Are you looking for information on Nokia Innovation Day 2016 Bangalore India? If so, here you go. I was unable to publish this one on-time, however, find some of the interesting and latest development of the technology from Nokia (one of the leading Smartphone manufacturer), from Nokia Innovation Day 2016 event held in Bangalore, India.

The world is becoming more urbanized, isn't it? Yes, with exponentially more connected devices. You would have observed them all around about it. For every device connected to the Internet today, 10 more will join it in the near future. This is the current scenario and will improve further soon.

Through IoT (Internet of Thing) and smart city concepts, we can automate our lives by connecting mobile devices to appliances, lights, roadways and just about everything – a shift that will improve efficiency and enable economic, social and environmental sustainability in India.

In this regard, Nokia is providing specific connectivity solutions, platforms and software, technology, combining automation and intelligence, making IoT a reality for smart cities, smart homes & public safety.

The Nokia business groups provides mobile and fixed solutions, IT platforms, analytics, security and related service capabilities such as multi-vendor system integration – the company also support end to end services in connected cars, digital health and smart home and integrate partners via our IoT ecosystem program.
At its annual Bangalore Innovation Day on December 14, 2016 Nokia demonstrated how it is making IoT a reality for smart cities, and public safety. The demos showcased how to manage the connectivity of myriad people and things, and how to eliminate “slow and complex” from creating IoT applications - and how it can be done in a secure manner.

These are innovations that leverage:

       In- house build sensors
       IMPACT, MEC platform
       Patented Algorithms by Bell Labs
End to end Network based solution for trespassing detection

Besides, there were demos from universities and start-up eco-system, and other innovations out of Nokia’s Bangalore Technology Center were showcased.

IoT demos for Smart Cities:

Nokia believes is empowering cities to respond quickly to demographic and economic shifts. Responsive, flexible technology that works for humanity is what makes smart cities “smart”, creating a safer and sustainable environment.

IoT solutions are designed to provide shared, secure and scalable platform that ensures the best use of urban resources and data to enable the human possibilities of smart, safe and sustainable cities.

Three IoT use cases were demonstrated at the Innovation Day:

1.       Smart Parking- This innovation that offers vehicle tagging to the respective slot and pre- booking. It helps on travel, traffic and driving management.
2.       Video Analytics- that can enhance surveillance capability through identifying intruders and trespassers at a fenced location
3.       Rail Road crossing- A life-saving measure, this innovation can promptly deliver warning message to people in dangerous proximity to a manned or un-manned railway crossing. It can also help authorities enforce penalty for trespassing or violation of railway-crossing rules.

All the solutions uses Nokia IoT Cloud solution called IMPACT platform where in real time data is processed, and meaningful insights are generated through Machine learning algorithms.

5G Autonomous Car.
Nokia’s thought leadership on 5G is well accepted in the industry with various engagements. Nokia believes every industry will be affected by 5G. Network speeds as high as 10Gbps and with extremely low latency are a driving force for new applications that use massive broadband capabilities.

The 5G will be the platform enabling growth in many industries, ranging from the IT industry to the car, entertainment, agriculture and manufacturing industries. 5G autonomous car use case highlighted the low latency and ultra-reliability aspects of 5G technology.

Technical candidates lack of right combination of hard and soft skills

Do you know the latest information on technology candidates? If not, learn something out of the box from the experts. Yes, The latest Kelly Global Workforce Insights (KGWI) survey on Career Resilience also found that across the globe, 60 per cent of millennials are concerned with keeping their skills updated, reflecting the uncertain economic times that they grew up in, their fascination with technology and disruptive business models, and their relatively high degree of comfort with change. How and why? Read this detail from Kelly. Geographically, APAC workers (64 per cent) are significantly more concerned with skills remaining current when compared to Americas (55 per cent) and EMEA (56 per cent). So,  lack of technical right combination of hard and soft skill results due to multi reasons. This result affect both, employer and employees.

60% of candidates in technical sectors lack right combination of hard and soft skills:

Kelly Services survey showsMillennials increasingly concerned about their skills becoming outdated

In this article, you will know indepth detail of Tech skills among its profession across globe. Yes, check the detail provided by KGWI. Outdated skills affect product and business too. PT workers represented over half of the workers surveyed in APAC and several PT disciplines reported meaningfully higher than average concerns with skills obsolescence versus layoffs (74 per cent of finance and accounting, 73 per cent of IT and 70 per cent of engineering). The findings reiterate the impending IT skill shortages in APAC, and the potentially negative impact on the region’s competitiveness.

“This is the age of do-it-yourself (DIY) career development. It is up to candidates to manage and invest in their own career—taking advantage of every learning and training experience, and building a personal brand that is separate from their employer. Career resilience will be defined by one’s acceptance of freelance assignments, temporary or contract opportunities,” said Thammaiah BN, Managing Director, Kelly Services India.

Now, you would have known some of the fact that how tech skills diminishes among profession due to various reasons. Read more detail about it.

The rise of the personal brand

The KGWI survey shows that relationships play the most important role in personal branding and it is changing the way people network. Do you know about it in detail? If not, continue to read about this one. This is true not just for hiring managers but also freelancers as the survey shows that 57 per cent of freelancers tap their personal and professional networks to find jobs via word-of-mouth and referrals. More importantly, 24 per cent of global workers secured their most recent job via word of mouth or employee referral and another 29 per cent directly from an employer or head-hunter. The survey also brings to the fore the importance of skills to back up positive reputation.

It sometime enrich the overall performance of the organization and sometime it goes with negative result to due to few unexpected reason.

“Candidates should be open to interning or taking a temporary position to build experience, whether at the beginning or middle of their career. Starting as a temporary employee or completing an internship gives talent an edge with PT hiring managers, especially for engineering candidates,” added Thammaiah.

Most important hard skills

The Career Resilience survey established five universal hard skills most often mentioned by PT hiring managers as important. Ranked one to five were analytical thinking (80 per cent), communication (61 per cent), evaluation, analysis, accuracy and trouble shooting (58 per cent), technical including systems, computers, software (57 per cent) and complex problem solving skills (56 per cent) respectively.

The important takeaway from the survey was that fewer than 40 per cent of global workers take advantage of career discussions with their employer. And only one-third (32 percent) seek training and pays for it while 46 per cent take advantage of employer-provided training.

Candidates must remember that do-it-yourself training can provide an edge when the opportunity for a career conversation arises and augment the creation of advanced opportunities for the future, the report concluded.

Coolpad Note 5 hands on review

This is reference to my earlier post on Coolpad Note 5 Smartphone specification detail, here you go for one of the finest device and hands on review of Coolpad Note 5 to go with. In general, I normally used to experiment a lot for any device that I buy or get for the review.

I used to go through most of the detail of the hardware, software, functions and different apps installing and checking them etc. The same case for this device as well. You may find some interesting fact from this device and its review herewith.

Coolpad Note 5 price tag is Rs 10,999 while releasing from Amazon, Oct-Nov 2016. While receiving and unboxing this device Note 5, it has required basic peripherals where some of the high-end device from different brand lacks of it while buying the phone. Yes, it has a quality charger, finest earphone, manual and strong box with Note 5 - the coolest device.

I got a gold color device which is an awesome, current trend and few of the brands already recently released the device with the same color. Whatsoever, Coolpad Note 5 smartphone stands differently in this race except color. Read this article for more detail on its differences and reviews.

After the mega success of Coolpad Note 3 smartphone sale, Coolpad Note 5 device is not lesser than the earlier one and this device has sold 25000 units within few hour and counts going on. Both (Coolpad Note 3 and 5) different looks as well. The Coolpad Note 5 comes with 4GB of RAM and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor.

This device comes with latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Cool UI 8.0 OS. The user can enjoy the feature of 32GB ROM / internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card). Yes, Coolpad Note 5 has a 13MP primary camera and the 8MP front shooter for selfies which is an added advantage. The slim yet powerful device within budget price compare to other brand and segment.

Coolpad Note 5 is a 5.5 inch device with golden color and of course Note series thus a larger screen and little high-end specification. It has Dual Nano SIM slot which user can use it for microSD too.

The device has a resolution of 1080X1920 pixels. The Coolpad Note 5 include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G connectivity. It has sensors like Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor in general.

This gadget is like a competitor to other brands' devices Redmi Note 3 and the LeEco Le2, and still it stands well ahead against them as overall comparison.

Hands on review of Coolpad Note 5:

Other than its box and its content, the Note 5 simply looks awesome with slim design. The 5.5 display and touch helps to go smooth with every move without hangs. The 4GB RAM plays important role too. The connectivity is simply superb whether the user uses data pack or WiFi, doesn't matter. I tested it with 2G speed, 3G speed and WiFi high data connectivity performances, and, all the way it is going very well.

The feature of fingerprint (Coolpad, the first one to brought this feature in the Smartphone market) really rocks though it is not quick as it opens, fingerprint scanner will at least take around 5 seconds whereas there are few other brand gadgets goes with just less than 3 seconds, however, this is not actually a big differences or a comparison to consider as serious.

The camera feature is really awesome. The 13MP camera already achieved a lot from Coolpad Note 3 to this device. The video and photo clarity is an excellent from both the cameras, the front one 8MP which helps for selfie (like Coolpad Mega smartphone) and clarity and the rear one is 13MP which even enriches the overall scene and result.

The Xploree Keyboard (Inbuilt) app helps to go smooth for touch function and typing though it gives little unfavorable move in the beginning. The themes and pictures as inbuilt given in this device are absolutely fantastic. If you have an health and fitness watch then this device will help you more to pair and record your health data like how many steps you have done, calorie burn, how many kilometers you have walked and on.

There are Managers over here, one is Permission manager and the other one is Autorun Manager in setting of Coolpad Note 5. The permission manager is all about 'App permissions' and its detail. The Autorun Manager is all about the Personal apps that already downloaded and its setting (enabled or disabled option) and System Apps and its setting.

Coolpad Note 5 is helpful for a video call as well, the user can use Skype, IMO, Snapchat and other related apps well. Other than this, this device has "Dual App" which helps user to use two different accounts (two FB or WhatsApp account) in just one device.

Picture taken from Coolpad Note 5

Advantages of Coolpad Note 5:
The following five benefits from Coolpad Note 5 gadget in this price segment.
4010mAh battery
4GB of RAM
32GM ROM (internal memory)
Fingerprint scanner in 0.5 seconds (Quick enough)
It supports Dual apps (Dual account in one device, user can create or manage two WhatsApp, FB and on, there is setting to manage it too).

Disadvantage in Coolpad Note 5:

I don’t know with others’ in their Coolpad Note 5 device, but for me, I face little issue like, I am unable to get the city and state drop-down selection from Jio App which let me spent lot of times to get the Jio Bar code for Jio SIM. So, hopefully the same issue for others since Jio team said that some of the 4G device is still not supporting their SIM to move ahead.

The second drawback I found is, unlike Coolpad Note 3, this device let me spent extra minutes to resize the photos within the device. Most of the time unable to resize (reduce) the photo from 1MB to few hundred Kbs.

UPDATE Notes (10 Dec 2016): I stated few disadvantages above and it was at that time when I reviewed it but I kept on trying for JIO SIM Bar code and finally it was received, so, one problem is solved for this handset.

The second one was, photo or video resize compare to earlier device of Note 3, now this problem also solved after few related apps installed and even without that by resizing in 'Free' mode option. So, both the problem or disadvantages what I mentioned almost solved, really.

Coolpad Note 5 specification:

Find the Coolpad Note 5 Specs over here.

RAM: 4GB
Processor: 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 OS: Android 6.0
Marshmallow-based Cool UI 8.0
Internal memory: 32GB ROM (expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card)
Camera: 13MP primary camera and the 8MP front one
Resolution of 1080X1920 pixels
Battery: 4010mAh non-removable battery
Dimension: 152.00 x 75.70 x 8.85
Weigh: 173.40 grams

Nano SIM slot image: user can use two nano SIM or one nano SIM and one microSD card. If expert tweak the SIM slot then user can use it as two nano SIM and one microSD card SIM upto 64GB memory.

Google Play and Apps detail:
Very few apps though you downloaded then still won't help to use it, just as said like JIO app for getting bar code is not an easy. At the same time, you may download many useful apps and enjoy the features from this device. Like, IMO apps helpful from this device. Not over yet, the user can enjoy Instagram, Skype, WhatsApp, Fingerprint feature (default / inbuilt), QR Scanner, Truecaller, Shareit and on.

The user can set whether to app update automatically or let owner's to decide it based on connectivity and convenient.

Verdict: Paisa vasool device, it can be also considered as cheap and best smartphone and simply superb to carry grand and high-end gadget in this price range.

I took so many photos and videos so far and published in social media. Almost all of them stunning and received appreciation and likes from many for the picture and videos. Great!.
